AAR – The Whiskey Gap
The clouds came, the sky cried and the whiskey gap claimed many lives. Two families came to claim, one left with whiskey, the other left nothing but souls claimed by the purgatory that is OKC Mtn.
Longshanks and McClintocks, power houses of the dark society. A battle that had been fought for years has now come to an end. The Longshanks have paralyzed all avenues of McClintock illegal rackets and run freely in the streets of Chicago.
Sunday came with a morning rain and high spirits. One would of thought some precipitation would keep most in bed on a cold weekend morning, but that was proven wrong by 9am.
OKC Mtn. had just over 40 souls visit her for a much anticipated “Whiskey Gap” scenario paintball game. Generals Jbern of OKC - www.thewoodsballer.com and Ryan “$lutmunky” of OKC went head to head in this 1920’s prohibition game.
This scenario started out with a bang. Five members from each family stood in front of the other, their guns on the ground and at the sound of go, they drew and fired upon their enemy. Members of the Longshanks stood standing winning them a gutsy 25 points.
By the start of game two the rain had drizzled away and the sky begin to brighten. Both sides rushed for control of the field. After an hour and twenty minutes the game had ended almost in a tie. Both teams managed to battle enough on the road to secure 5 payments a piece to Canadian Mounties and then have guts enough to accomplish missions that took them deep into enemy territory to demolish rival gangs whiskey warehouses.
Game two required both families to deliver whiskey to a pick up point. Like a game of center flag capture, players flooded towards the main objective to shoot it out for control. I personally saw some serious firefights and insanely ballsy moves committed by quite a few people, which makes paintball so incredibly awesome. The McClintocks started out crushing the Longshanks with an early delivery of three crates. An impressive starting strategy wasn’t enough though, with a determined Longshank crew, they hung in and dug in, gaining ground inch by inch, ultimately winning the round.
Game three was chaotic. Both teams started parallel and had objectives opposite corners from them, forcing both teams to cross at center field to reach their objective all while trying to defend their mob boss’ home. By the end of 25 minutes, so many people had been annihilated and so much paint had been thrown that neither team was able to secure their objective.
The days last game was much like it’s first, an old school gangster shootout. Eight members from each side braved the bullets this time and once again the Longshanks stood standing. I don’t know I’ve felt more tension in the air than in those few seconds before the round started.
I must say, though the Longshanks won in points, the day was insanely even. Every player on the field, regardless of mob association, played their guts out. The theme of this game was “no guts no glory” and it truly was played out in this scenario.
A big thanks to all who came out. OKC, you all are amazing, MGB Bros once again you have shown us why we love you all so much. SFDELTA T, you guys were great and we look forward to playing with you sometime soon. TRIAD, I can’t say enough about McBride, great shooter, but more importantly a great individual.
Big thanks to both generals, Slutmunky and Jbern, for making this one of OKC’s most memorable scenarios ever.
Thanks to everyone for making this game something we will remember. We look forward to the next time we all meet at OKC MTN.
