Default A5 Feeding Problem

I just upgraded my A5 with softer paddles on the Cyclone Feed System and an EGrib, but now it is only firing about one out of every 5 rounds, even on semi auto. Any ideas on why?

If its not an easy fix, maybe someone can take a look at it at the Scenario Game thus Sunday

Is the cyclone cycling? Is it that the marker is firing 5 times before the cyclone cycles or that you pull five times and then the gun fires?

I had bad luck with the soft paddles when I had an a-5.

If you want it in good working order before the weekend I'd suggest three options.

1. Continue tinkering with it.
2. Put the original paddles back in.
3. Bring it down to Oregon Paintball for a fixin.

What brand are the paddles? I've heard bad things about RAP4 soft paddles.

Try these first.

1) Loosen the screw that holds the paddle in. Tightening that screw too much can cause the paddles to bind, especially when you've switched to soft paddles.

2) Take the bottom of the cyclone off and check the ratchet inside. Many times switching to an egrip will destroy the stock ratchet because it wasn't bult to be very durable...it's plastic. Check the cogs on the wheel, and the finger on the ratchet. If they're cracked, chipped, etc. that's your problem. Replace them with new TechT of JCS internals, both work well, I believe JCS installation is easier.

3) Open the receiver (body of your marker) and check that the hole for the cyclone air hose is not obstructed by debris, i.e. broken paint, dirt, etc.

Check them in that order. In my opinion, those are the most logical causes in the most logical order. Conveniently, they're also ordered easiest to hardest.

Good luck.

After a bit of tinkering, I figured it out.
