3v-6v
They're Sunon Maglev fans.

Beginning to think I should use a 3AAA holder for 4.5v with the 20mm fans because they're rated at 19db which will get annoying if they're on all the time.
The 25mm fan is rated at 16db which is definitely quieter.

Are you using 1 fan or 2 fans?

I don't know if this is easier for you but if you wire those 2 fans in series and run a 9 volt with them it will be 4.5V across each, and will be less wiring to do than if you ran them in parallel. Plus we all run 9V so people always have them if you run out, and you don't need a voltage regulator to mess with.

Definitely crossed my mind. I've ordered the stuff to do that as well.
Just thinking the AAA's will last quite a bit longer than a 9v. Not that I have any idea how long they would last.
Other thing I was thinking is the voltage drop of the 9v as it discharges would drag down to what like... 3v per fan?

depends on how you wire them. If it's series it will be 4.5, if it's parallel it will be 9V. Also if you want help putting them together I have all the soldering stuff you need.

Yeah not entirely sure at this point any more about how I'm going to assemble them.
Part of me says just go with the Haber because it turns on and off automatically.
I'm going to play around with different voltages to see how noisy the fans are. I'm figuring two 20mm fans are going to pull more air than the Haber even if they're at 4.5v.

The whole thing about using 9v because we all carry them is definitely a consideration. I just wonder if I'd drain them super fast. No idea how to do the calculations on this. Actually, I'm just too lazy to do the calculations between parallel/series fans and AAA vs 9v.

Thanks for the offer. I've got some good soldering equipment at home. Just not much experience with circuits other than some failed attempts at cMoy audio amplifiers.

Got the fans today and tested them.
I'm definitely going to use the 20mm fans as they're a bit quieter and smaller.
That said, if anyone wants a 25mm Sunon let me know and I'll mail it to you.

I think this is the perfect thread to use my new favorite word: Nerdgasm

"What is the origin of Nerdgasm"

Its what people on BF3 call Sert when he is owning them, as in "hey kid, don't have a nerdgasm just because your good at a video game".

"Could you use it in a sentence?"

While u 2 have a nerdgasm dreaming of fans I am going to buy a premanufactured unit that is designed to be functional and ergonomic.

And would obstruct my vision. The Haber unit looks like it's somewhere between 12-15mm tall because a typical AAA battery is 10.5mm in diameter.
I tried putting the 10mm tall fans into the inside of the mask and they were definitely visible.
Cost of materials so far is about $20-$25.

I'm not opposed to buying a Haber, that auto function is awesome. I'll definitely ask to try someone's out next time at the mtn.

Indeed. I totally love diving into stuff like this. I ain't gonna lie.
It would be sweet if I could mimic the Haber's auto circuitry on my own but that's above my knowledge/care at the moment. I am however taking a note from Pappy and putting a potentiometer in my circuit.

One of the many advantages to the flex 8 mask is that it was designed to incase a fan factory setup (don't buy it, total POS). The top visor comes with a small hole in the top, this is really convenient for rigging your own button or switch. I used a red button switch that I purchased at Radioshack. All I did was squeeze into that hole and its a tight, snug fit.

The fan and battery fit right into the front of the visor. No need for tieing or gluing anything down, just squeeze your fan and battery harness/wires in there and they will stay put on their own.

With this setup I enjoy hours and hours of play fog free. 0.00%, zilch, nodda, zero. It's so quiet I mistakenly leave it on and waste my batteries too.

Damnit.
There's no visor for the Profits. Even if I can get them to breathe better, I still would have to like... mod a visor to fit and that would probably just be lame.
You're only helping to convince me that I should just buy another mask that has a visor for several reasons.
I haven't tried on the Flex masks but I've been reading up a decent amount. I'm pretty interested in checking out the 09+ E-Vents. The Grills have better color options but I'm not a fan of looking like some aggro ass bug eyed motorcyclist vampire with a skin condition. Not that I find the E-Vents sexy but they've got a ton of good stuff going for them.
