Good points. I agree, and have seen the same things. It is really too bad to see a team stop enjoying paintball. I know of a few teams that only play in large events instead of smaller events just for the exposure and sponsorship reasons. Personally, I like to play paintball wherever I think I will have the most fun. I tend to enjoy the smaller group games because there tends to be a lot less politics and BS involved.

It really seems that a lot of people get into the whole team and sponsorship thing and end up making paintball their other job. Paintball is my hobby and something I really love doing, but when it becomes this giant job with all kinds of responsibilities, that changes the focus from fun to requirement.

I see a lot of teams get sponsored by fields, only to be roped into reffing and playing renegades for big games. Where's the fun in that? I would rather play with my group and have fun rather than meeting the requirements of sponsors or field owners, it seems that the sponsors, producers, and field owners are the ones getting the deal here.

Good for you for speaking up. I like your attitude. I'm afraid you are right and some players may go into a game against a sponsored team with a subconscious feeling the sponsored team is better. Don't you believe it! At least you can focus on the game and having fun. Where is their focus?
